  • Considering re-enrolling in Half-Finished to Done, LIVE? This one’s for you

If you’re considering re-enrolling in another round of Half-Finished to Done, LIVE, amazing!

It would be my honor to work with you again.

Re-enrolling is for everyone, whether you successfully finished your project in your first round or not.

Here are a few common concerns and questions that I hear from grads like you who are considering re-joining:

I think I need to try it on my own for awhile.

While you know that I’m all about building self-accountability, I encourage you to really question the value of doing it on your own.

What will that offer you that re-enrolling won’t?

Try this thought on: You can both be self-accountable and get high-level coaching that stretches your thinking beyond your current capacity.

It’s like having a personal trainer. You can work out on your own, but having a trainer to push you beyond what you think is possible in terms of weight and reps is hugely beneficial.

Also, be aware of the temptation to go out on your own before you’ve had at least one successfully completed project process where you’ve totally nailed all of it (planning, scheduling/timeline, executing, evaluating).

Don’t pump the brakes just when you’re getting momentum.

I was super successful in the first round and don’t know if I need another round.

    First of all, congrats!

I recommend continuing to re-enroll until you’re 100% certain about how you created your finished project; you know for sure that it wasn’t a fluke; and you trust your ability to repeat and amplify your successes for every future personal and business project.

And: You might not need another round, but what if you just want it?

It’s so fun to invest in coaching from pure desire, not urgency or desperation.

Another round is the perfect opportunity to practice your new skills, cement them in your life, and stretch your project capacity.

By stretch your project capacity, I mean create more value for your clients, increase your efficiency, automate more, strip down to just the essentials, schedule even more fun and downtime, and learn to bask in all of the success that you’re creating.

I wasn’t successful in the first round and I’m scared to go back through it again.

What if you knew without a shadow of a doubt that in 1-2 years, you would be a project finisher?

How many times would you be willing to work the same process?

That’s the definition of massive action: Showing up and putting in work until you get your desired result.

It’s so tempting to quit this process and try to find another one, but I strongly recommend that you use this as an opportunity to you prove to yourself that you can make any process work. (Because that’s how powerfully you understand your thoughts, feelings, actions, and results and understand how to change them to create what you want.)

    I’m nervous about the investment.

Let’s talk about “brain investments,” putting time, money, and energy into something that increases your ability to manage your mind, and strengthens and expands the value of your brain.

Brain investments are the most valuable investments that you can make in your business and life, because your brain is ultimately what produces more money for you.

Making brain investments that help you—instead of spin you out—requires you to hone the ability to guarantee yourself an ROI.

As a business owner, if you don’t trust in your ability to invest 1k and get a return on that investment, that’s a skill worth working on.

Because if you want to join a program like Half-Finished to Done, LIVE, but feel like you can’t, there is a mismatch between your desired result and your belief in your ability to obtain that desired result.

This lack of belief will show up in how you produce—or don’t produce—the results that you want in your life, like finished projects, a thriving client base, and more.

So, let’s bridge that gap together, and help you lock in the skill of guaranteeing yourself an ROI on your brain investments.

Start here: If I were going to guarantee myself that I make my $1k investment back, how would I do it? Bring your answer to your consult.

I’m wondering what’s new in the program since I went through it.

Before I tell you, I want you to consider this: What if there was nothing new; the only new thing was how you showed up to the program?

How would you do it differently this time, knowing what you know now?

Really let that idea sink in. Andddd….here are some of the latest additions:

    • A workbook with a self-service troubleshooting process; this lets you work troubleshoot on your own so we can coach more efficiently and deeply.
    • The Ask a Coach Booklet, with 50+ real client questions and challenges, and my coaching responses (you can browse this to find things you wouldn’t have thought to ask or do a first round of problem solving on common issues).
    • A checklist with the 7 criteria of excellent project plans; you can check your plan against these criteria to ensure project completion and improve your process.
    • A process when you miss a call or assignment, so that you can understand what happened and why. (The reasons people miss calls or assignments are the same reasons they don’t finish their projects.)
    • The 5 reasons that people disengage from the program, and the warning signs that this is about to happen.
    • A project self-evaluation process for reviewing your successes and setting yourself up for success with your next project.

It’s a lot, but my job is to direct you to exactly what you need in any given moment.

I’m not sure how I feel about going through the program with new people.

When we combine veterans like you with newbies who are experiencing the process for the first time, it benefits everyone.

New people bring beginner’s mind; you bring knowledge of the process and data from your last round.

    Come see.

  • Why Half-Finished to Done, LIVE?

Here’s how to know if Half-Finished to Done, LIVE is the program for you:

    • You sheepishly raise your hand when I ask if you have more than 10 half-finished projects circulating in your mind right now
    • You struggle with time management, getting distracted, figuring out what to prioritize, and staying committed to one thing—every day
    • You often end up procrastinating or doing busy work, because you’re feeling confused, overwhelmed, or frustrated and you want an escape
    • You’re ready and willing to go all in on one process, to finally get the results that you’ve been craving (even if your brain is telling you that you’ve already tried something like before)

You don’t yet have that one set project process that you KNOW works, but we can fix that.

In Half-Finished to Done, LIVE, I teach you how to:

    • Determine exactly the result that you want from your projects, then how to reverse engineer your way to get those results
    • Evaluate your work process—without judgment—so that you can find out exactly what you’re already doing that’s working, what you’re doing that’s not working, and then how to implement high-level, custom solutions that you generate
    • Process negative emotions like guilt, shame, and overwhelm, so that they don’t unconsciously run your life AND generate productive feelings, like focus, commitment, and pride, on demand

You will invest 8 weeks of time and energy, and an upfront investment of money.

    Here’s what you’ll get back:

You’ll have hands-on experience applying the exact 6-step process that takes any project from half-finished to done, and you can pull it out at any time in the future.

This means you won’t spend any more time spinning in overwhelm, filled with anxiety, or in a shame spiral.

You’ll learn to be decisive, choose one project, focus on it 100%, and actually have FUN working on it. When it’s done, you’ll know how to evaluate your results (without judgment) and you’ll know how to actually celebrate your successes.

You’ll be able to do this on demand and on repeat in your business for years to come—and you’ll see the compounding effect of this.

Your skill sets will grow, your revenue will grow, your network will grow, and your sense of peace, calm, and self-trust will grow.

Here’s the kicker: You’ll think you’re coming for better results in your business. BUT this work will ripple out far beyond your business. You’ll be a better partner and parent. You’ll pick up and enjoy new hobbies. You’ll have better vacations. You’ll be more generous with your time and money. You might even lose weight if you want to. I see this with clients all the time.

You can keep DIY-ing your way to increased productivity—picking up books about habits, trying shiny new project management apps, or getting an accountability partner.

If that’s fun and working for you, awesome. (Really!) If it’s not: I invite you to join Half-Finished to Done, LIVE and shorten your learning curve exponentially.

You’ll leave our time together knowing how to be accountable to yourself, how to diagnose and solve your own challenges, and how to make crystal-clear, high-value decisions.

And it all starts with one decision: To book a free 45-minute consult with me.

I can’t wait to work with you!

  • The shame slide

Let’s talk about the shame slide.⁣

(Did anyone else just imagine the old board game Chutes and Ladders?) ⁣

I’ve been noticing something in myself and my clients recently: There’s a big difference between feeling shame and acting from shame.⁣

Feeling shame means noticing and naming it (“This is shame”), processing it in our bodies, and watching our thoughts, without beating ourselves up. ⁣

Acting from shame usually means hiding, avoiding, numbing, isolating, and beating ourselves up. ⁣

Thanks to the wisdom of one of my clients, I’ve been thinking about the difference like this: Feeling shame is like standing at the little platform at the top of a slide and observing.

Acting from shame is like hopping on the slide and spiraling down into full-on shame land. ⁣

It often happens so fast that we’re not even aware that we’re moving from feeling into acting. ⁣

So next time you feel shame, give yourself a few seconds to stand at the top of the slide and decide if you really want to whoosh on down. I highly recommend hanging out on the platform instead, at least for a little bit. ⁣

  • I didn’t call it procrastination…

Procrastination can take some “obvious” forms—like scrolling on social media or watching Netflix instead of working—but it can also be more subtle and sneaky. ⁣

The latter was my way of procrastinating in the past. I didn’t call it procrastination, but it was. ⁣

    My procrastination looked like: ⁣

💡Looking high and low for someone to give me an answer or validate my decision, instead of relying on myself.⁣
💡Starting a ton of different things, and then splitting my attention in every direction to try to juggle all of them at once.⁣
💡Waiting for the “right time” or the “right mood” to get things done.⁣
💡Indulging in overwhelm, instead of picking a task and taking action on it.⁣
💡Using the fact that I identified as an “idea person” against myself. (So.many.ideas.)⁣
💡Overcommitting to things and then quitting them.⁣

I’m what I call an Impact Seeker. I had ideas for days, fiery passion, and big visions; I just didn’t manage my mind, my schedule, or my moods. I still have a billion ideas, ton of passion, and a big vision for my business and life, but I’ve learned to manage it. ⁣

Your procrastination might look like mine used to. But it might be more like the two other procrastination archetypes, which I see in my clients: ⁣

The Potential Seeker, who is driven to reach their full potential, but fears that they won’t. This shows up as perfectionism and second-guessing. ⁣

The Enjoyment Seeker, who is driven to enjoy life to the fullest, but fears that they won’t. This shows up as seeking pleasure and avoiding pain. ⁣

Which of the three procrastination archetypes do you think that you are?

(And if you’re wondering if you can be a combo of all three types. the answer is: Definitely.)

P.S. If you’re ready to understand your procrastination archetype, so that you can channel it in your business, then Half-Finished to Done, LIVE might be a fit for you.

  • The unexpected benefits of Half-Finished to Done, LIVE

The main reason that business owners like you join Half-Finished to Done, LIVE is because they have half-finished projects that they want to finally get done. ⁣

But there’s a secret spillover benefit that many grads mention on their final self-assessment form: That they unintentionally start applying Half-Finished to Done, LIVE concepts to all areas of their lives.⁣

They start noticing when their kids are beating themselves up, and they teach them how to channel self-compassion.⁣

They use deep work strategies to plan self-care, including hikes and solo activities that they previously shied away from.⁣

They teach their teens how to plan their schedules, a skill that they themselves never learned in school.⁣

They’re more patient with their spouses and business partners. ⁣

They blame other people less and take more responsibility. ⁣

They free up their time to explore hobbies, like cooking, painting, and cheese making. ⁣

Come for the finished business projects; leave with wins in all areas of your life!

  • The Half-Finished to Done, LIVE time machine

If we were to drop you in the Half-Finished to Done, LIVE time machine and spit you out in February 2021, how would you want to feel on a more consistent basis when it came to getting projects done in your business?⁣

A lot of people will answer this question with things like “Less stressed,” “less overwhelmed,” or “less frantic.” ⁣

That’s a great start, but I recommend focusing not on what feeling you won’t have, but what feeling you will have. ⁣

    Would you want to feel:⁣

    More committed?⁣

    More invested?⁣

    More energized?⁣

    More satisfied?⁣

    More inspired?⁣

    More passionate?⁣

    More decisive?⁣

    More focused?⁣

  • Questions for biz owners to ask themselves in 2021

One of the single most important skill sets that you develop in Half-Finished to Done, LIVE is to ask yourself empowering questions, and then give yourself empowering answers.⁣

Here’s a jumpstart; some of the empowering questions that I recently asked of my clients who are enrolled in the next round of Half-Finished to Done, LIVE:⁣

    💡What are your top strengths?⁣
💡What are your core values right now?⁣
💡What is a one-sentence mission statement for your life right now?⁣
💡What do you want the title of your memoir to be in 2021? ⁣
💡What feelings would you love to feel on a more regular basis? ⁣
💡What is one thing that motivates you? ⁣
💡If Future You of February could tell you one thing, what would it be?⁣

Remember: Always use these tools for yourself, not against yourself. The best answers are often on the other side of “I don’t know,” so if you feel stumped, gently hold yourself to coming up with an answer.⁣

  • A bounce-back plan

    Do you have a bounce-back plan?⁣

My clients ask this question a lot: “How do I get back on track after I ‘fall off the horse’ or take a few days off?”⁣

    I recommend having a go-to “bounce-back plan.” ⁣

It’s a plan that you create ahead of time, that you can pull out any time you want to get back on track. ⁣

If you don’t have one, you’re welcome to steal mine and adjust it as needed:⁣

I carve out a few hours (2-3, depending on how long I’ve been away) on my first day back. I pull out my guide for how to get into a deep work state in 15 minutes and use it to get focused and motivated, on demand. ⁣

Then, I work the entire Monday Hour One process, which involves taking a full inventory of everything I want to accomplish for the week—based on my 90-day goals—then scheduling them on the calendar. ⁣

When I’m just getting back into the swing of things, I include more downtime, breaks, and walks than normal, to give my brain and body space to ease back in.

One last thought: Anticipate that you’ll likely feel overwhelmed your first few days back—and that’s okay.

Ready to take this work even deeper, with my help?
